3. William Wilmot2 HAWKINS (Zadock1 HAWKINS) was born on 16 Nov 1757 in New Milford, Connecticut. He was named William Wilmot Hawkins at birth but has been called Eli William Wilmot Hawkins by some of his descendants. The evidence for placing Eli William Wilmot Hawkins of New Brunswick as William Wilmot Hawkins, son of Zadock Hawkins of Derby, Connecticut, appears in an article on page 106 of the April 2001 issue of The American Genealogist. He died on 12 Sep 1842 in Pennfield, Charlotte Co., New Brunswick, Canada. He was buried in Pennfield Baptist Church Cemetery.

He was married to Hannah about 1778 in The United States. Hannah died between 1799 and 1802 in Pennfield, Charlotte Co., New Brunswick, Canada, most likely. William Wilmot HAWKINS and Hannah had the following children:

child+12 ii. Zadock3 HAWKINS.
child+13 iii. William3 HAWKINS.
child14 iv. Eliz3 HAWKINS. She appears as Eliz with William and Hannah Hawkins on a record made in 1784. No other records have been found on her. She may have died young. Possibly she married and no records have survived to associate her as a married woman with the Hawkins family. However, we currently believe that the name Eliz was substituted for Lydia on that list. Reasons why we believe this to be the case are presented in our book, The Family of Zadock Hawkins.
child15 v. Phillip3 HAWKINS. This name appears after siblings Zed and Eliz on a record made in 1784. No other records have been found on him. We currently believe that the name Phillip was substituted for William Wilmot Hawkins' son William on that list. Reasons why we believe this to be the case are presented in our book, The Family of Zadock Hawkins.

He was married to Jane about 1814 in St. George, Charlotte Co., New Brunswick, Canada. Jane was born about 1797 in New Brunswick, Canada. She died. William Wilmot HAWKINS and Jane had the following children:
