ZADOCK HAWKINS Book Information

11. Lydia³ HAWKINS (William Wilmot² HAWKINS, Zadock¹ HAWKINS) was born about 1778 in Nova Scotia, Canada, most likely. Lydia's birth year is uncertain. The 1851 Census places her age at 73 and her husband at the time at 50 years, a difference of 23 years. If she truly was 73 years old in the 1851 census, then she would have been born around 1778. She clearly was born before 1784 because there is evidence she had two children before 1800.

Further complicating the determination of her birth year is the fact she does not appear on the list of William Wilmot Hawkins' children taken in 1784. Though it is possible she was accidentally omitted from that list, we believe the name Eliz was inserted onto the list in place of Lydia. Reasons behind this conclusion will be presented in the book we are writing. She died after 1851 in New Brunswick, Canada, most likely.

She was married to Gideon JUSTASON (son of Isaac JUSTASON and Cecilia SLYDE) about 1793 in Pennfield, Charlotte Co., New Brunswick, Canada, most likely.

The names of Gideon and Lydia (Hawkins) Justason's children that appear here were provided by G. Christian Larsen of Pennfield, New Brunswick, Canada, and are based on research he is conducting on the descendants of Isaac Justason (ca 1739 - 1812). Gideon JUSTASON was born on 25 Nov 1775 in Woolwich Twp., Gloucester Co., New Jersey, USA. He died in 1833 in Pennfield, Charlotte Co., New Brunswick, Canada. Lydia HAWKINS and Gideon JUSTASON had the following children:
