ZADOCK HAWKINS Book Information

1014. Guy6 CHICK (Minerva "Ellen"5 HAWKINS, Zadock4 HAWKINS, Zadock3 HAWKINS, Zadock2 HAWKINS, Zadock1 HAWKINS) was born on 6 Oct 1875 in Peru, Miami Co., Indiana. He died on 3 Dec 1948 in Kenosha, Kenosha Co., Wisconsin. He was buried at Mount Hope Cemetery in Peru, Miami Co., Indiana. He moved to Wisconsin around 1930. He resided in Belmont, Wisconsin, in 1941. At the time of his death he resided at Route 1, Kenosha, Wisconsin. He had been ill of complications for two weeks prior to his death. He was a retired carpenter.

He was married to Laura M. PONTIOUS (daughter of J. P. PONTIUS) in 1897. Laura M. PONTIOUS was born on 3 Sep 1870 in Akron, Fulton Co., Indiana, USA. Although one record claims her father's name was J. P. Pontius, we believe her father was Isaac P. Pontious because a daughter, Laura M. Pontious, appearing in his household in the 1880 U.S. Census, was the right age to be this Laura M. Pontious. She died on 15 Jun 1931 in Denver, Miami Co., Indiana. She died following a long illness of "a complication of diseases." She had lived the greater part of her life in Peru, Indiana. However, for a few years prior to her death, she resided at Racine, Wisconsin. Immediately prior to her death, she had come back to Miami Co., Indiana, to make her home with her son Vitis, near Denver, Indiana, on account of failing health. She was buried at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Peru, Indiana. Guy CHICK and Laura M. PONTIOUS had the following children:

child+1931 i. Vitis Linn7 CHICK.
child1932 ii. Foster Dale7 CHICK. He lived in Belmont, Wisconsin, in 1941 and in Kenosha, Wisconsin, in 1948. He must have gone by his middle name some, as that was the name by which he was referred in his brother's obituary.
child+1933 iii. Dorothy7 CHICK.
child1934 iv. son7 CHICK died before 28 Aug 1941.
