8. Mary Jane² STEWART (Benjamin¹ STEWART) was born on 6 OCT 1854 in New York, USA. She appeared on the 1860 U.S. Census with her parents in Chester Twp., Ottawa Co., Michigan. She died on 9 JUN 1943 in Ravenna, Muskegon Co., Michigan. The obituary of Mary Jane dated 10 June 1943 from the Muskegon Chronicle reads:
Mrs Mary Jane Housler, 88 years old, Ravenna, died Wednesday at her home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P. M. Saturday at the Clock - Nollar Funeral Home, Ravenna, Rev. H. Bovendam officiating. Interment in McNitt Cemetery. [Conklin, Michigan] Friends may call at the funeral home.

This obituary reflects that she had returned to using the surname HOUSLER prior to her death as her grandson, Floyd HOUSLER indicated.

She was married to Jonathan HOUSLER in 1870. Jonathan was from North Colfax, Wexford Co., Michigan prior to their marriage according to the Stewart-Hillard Reunion Papers. They appeared on the 1880 U.S. Census in Chester Twp., Ottawa Co., Michigan. Jonathan Housler and Mary Jane Stewart separated around 1893, according to her grandson, Lyle. Although she remarried twice, once to William Davenport and once to Charles DeShane, she was reported to be going by the surname Housler at the time of her death. Jonathan HOUSLER was born about 1846 in Ohio, USA. He died after 19 DEC 1896. Mary Jane STEWART and Jonathan HOUSLER had the following children:

She was married to Wellington H. DAVENPORT (son of William DAVENPORT and Emmaline STEWART) on 27 SEP 1905 in Muskegon, Muskegon Co., Michigan, USA. Wellington and Mary Jane appeared on the 1910 U.S. Census in Ravenna, Muskegon Co., Michigan. Wellington H. DAVENPORT was born in 1855 in Ohio, USA. He died in MAR 1942.

She was married to Charles DESHANE before 1920. Charles and Mary Jane appeared on the 1920 U.S. Census in Coopersville, Ottawa Co., Michigan. Charles DESHANE was born about 1861 in New York, USA.
