He died on 5 May 2004 in Clinton, Henry Co., Missouri, USA.

He was married to Joan Cecelia ELWOOD (daughter of Paul ELWOOD and Rosella A. FELRATH) in Northfield, Rice Co., Minnesota. Joan Cecelia ELWOOD was born on 1 Jul 1942 in LeSueur Co., Minnesota. She died on 12 Jul 1982 in Kansas City, Wyandotte Co., Kansas, USA. Joan was buried on 15 July 1982 in Cole Camp, Benton, Missouri, USA. She died from Leukemia while in the hospital in Kansas City. Her residence at the time was Ionia, Missouri. She had worked at Sheldahl in Northfield, Minnesota, in the 1960's where she helped to build satellites including the early communications satellites, Echo I and Echo II.
