368. Leander L.5 HAWKINS (Zadock4 HAWKINS, Zadock3 HAWKINS, Zadock2 HAWKINS, Zadock1 HAWKINS) was born on 6 Nov 1851 in Indiana, USA. He appeared on the 1860 U.S. Census with his father and step mother in Richland, Fulton Co., Indiana. Ten years later he appeared on the census in Peru City, Miami Co., Indiana with his step brother, Ira Hanby whose mother, Malinda, married Leander's father after Leander's mother died. He was listed as Leander Haukins in that census. He died on 5 Nov 1922 in Peru, Miami Co., Indiana.

He was married to Sarah J. before 1880. Leander and Sarah J. appeared on the 1880 U.S. Census in Peru Twp., Miami Co., Indiana. At that time Leander's brother William was living in the dwelling next to Leander and Sarah J. in the home of William's daughter Sarah and her husband Henry Goren. Sarah J. was born about 1855 in Ohio, USA. She died on 17 Sep 1902 in Miami Co., Indiana.

He was married to Eva Pearl DUNNUCK (daughter of Elisha DUNNUCK and Emma DALLAS) on 23 Jul 1905 in Miami Co., Indiana. Eva Pearl DUNNUCK was born on 16 Sep 1885 in Miami Co., Indiana. The Social Security Death Index places her birth in 1887. Other records suggest she was born in 1885. We are not certain which is correct.
She died in Jan 1970 in Peru, Miami Co., Indiana, most likely. Her occupation was "housewife" at the time she was married. One account spells her name Dunnick. Leander L. HAWKINS and Eva Pearl DUNNUCK had the following children:

child1018 i. Grace6 HAWKINS was born about 1906 in Peru, Miami Co., Indiana, most likely. It is not known for sure that Grace was Eva's daughter. She may have been Leander's daughter by his first marriage.

child1019 ii. Harry6 HAWKINS was born on 17 Sep 1907 in Peru, Miami Co., Indiana. He died on 6 Aug 1968 in Peru, Miami Co., Indiana. He died at Dukes Hospital after a 1 1/2 week illness. He had been a night watchman at the Wallace Manufacturing Corp. in Peru. He was buried at Mount Hope Cemetery in Peru.
