Abraham Lincoln Finney and Andrew Johnson Finney were twins. He appeared on the 1880 U.S. Census with his brothers and their half-sister, Mary E. Apple (Etta), living with their mother Sarah E. Frazier in Windsor Twp., Cowley Co., Kansas. He died on 27 Jan 1944 in Cambridge, Cowley Co., Kansas, USA. He was buried 29 January 1944 at Cambridge, Cowley Co., Kansas. His father's obituary placed Abraham in Cambridge, Kansas in 1914. He was married to Sarah Emiline SUTTON (daughter of
Edward D. SUTTON and Elsie Elizabeth TAGUE) on 23 May
1885 in Winfield, Cowley Co., Kansas. According to the 1895 Kansas Census of
Elk County, Abe and his family resided in Longton. They were living in Windsor
Twp., Cowley Co., Kansas when the 1900 census was taken. They lived in Cambridge,
Cowley Co., Kansas at the time of the 1920 U.S. Census.
Sarah Emiline SUTTON was born on 20 Oct 1862 in Marysville, Marshall Co.,
Kansas. She died on 16 Aug 1960 in Winfield, Cowley Co., Kansas. She was buried
18 August 1960 at Cambridge, Cowley Co., Kansas. Her granddaughter, Rosalie
(Finney) Vollrath, wrote that, "Grandma always had her cookie jar full of
big sugar cookies...the main thing that was outstanding about them was that she
had made them for us." Abraham Lincoln FINNEY and Sarah Emiline SUTTON
