5. Maria Alice² HILLARD (Richmond A.¹ HILLARD) was born on 4 MAR 1805 in Cornish, Cheshire Co., New Hampshire, USA. The History of Cornish reports her birth and immediately reports that she died on 1 December without giving a year for her death. This has led some to conclude that she died young, which is clearly an error. Overwhelming evidence from records in Ohio where her parents and siblings settled points to the fact that she survived to adulthood. She died before 29 SEP 1884.

She was married to Peter BLACK (son of Samuel BLACK and Sarah) on 24 JUL 1825 in Champaign Co., Ohio, USA. Peter BLACK was born in 1786 in Pennsylvania, USA. He died in 1869. Maria Alice HILLARD and Peter BLACK had the following children:
