THIRD GENERATION

23. Francis Marion³ BLACK (Maria Alice² HILLARD, Richmond A.¹ HILLARD) was born on 24 JUL 1836 in Champaign Co., Ohio, USA. He died on 24 MAY 1902. He was buried in Elmwood Cemetery in Kansas City, Missouri. He was a lawyer and judge, serving on the Missouri Supreme Court from 1884 to 1894 and as Chief Justice of the court in 1893-1894. He was a founder and the first president of the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law.

He was married to Susan Bartges GEIGER (daughter of Dr. Albertus GEIGER) in 1867. Susan Bartges GEIGER died before 22 NOV 1919. She was buried in Elmwood Cemetery, Kansas City, Missouri. Francis Marion BLACK and Susan Bartges GEIGER had the following children:
