55. Daniel⁴ HAWKINS (William³ HAWKINS, William Wilmot² HAWKINS, Zadock¹ HAWKINS) was born about 1814 in New Brunswick, Canada. He died on 29 Jan 1890 in Dereham Twsp., Oxford Co., Ontario, Canada, most likely. His death record is hard to read but may indicate that he died on 25 January 1890 rather than 29 January as reported in other records.

He was married to Sarah Ann BOUGNER after 1847. One record of their marriage refers to her as, "the widow Matthews." They removed to Ontario, Canada. Daniel and Sarah Ann appeared on the 1881 Canadian Census in Muskoka Co., Ontario. Listed with them on that census was a Vonleston Hawkins, age 30. It is possible that is a name that was used for one of their sons, William Zadock Hawkins or Joseph Lester Hawkins. But Vonleston was probably Sarah Ann's child from her marriage to Mr. Matthews. Sarah Ann BOUGNER was born about 1820 in Ontario, Canada. Daniel HAWKINS and Sarah Ann BOUGNER had the following children:
