She appeared on the 1900 U.S. Census with her parents in Richland Twp. , Marshall Co., Illinois. This relationship is based on the claim that a granddaughter, Mrs. Minnie Arendell, of Moline, attended the funeral of her grandfather, William Lock, and the fact that William Lock had a daughter, Anna Murphy living in Moline at the time and that Minnie and her husband appeared on the 1910 U.S. Census living with Anna and her husband James Murphy.
