838. Jennie M.⁶ SPEAR (William Forbes⁵ SPEAR, Margaret⁴ HAWKINS, William³ HAWKINS, William Wilmot² HAWKINS, Zadock¹ HAWKINS) was born on 1 Oct 1870 in Pennfield, Charlotte Co., New Brunswick, Canada. Some records have placed Jennie Spear's birth on 1 October 1874, which is only seven days before the birth of her brother, George McKenzie Spear. We believe she was probably born around 1870, the year used here. There is no question that she and George McKenzie Spear are brother and sister as there is documentation that they were siblings of Annie M. (Spear) Justason, wife of Zadock Justason. To further complicate matters, Jennie does not appear in the 1881 Canadian Census with her parents. However, a Mary J. Spear, who was ten years old, appears on that census with the family of Isaac and Jane (Hawkins) Justason. Jane Hawkins was the sister of William F. Spear's mother. The Mary J. Spear who was living with the Isaac Justason family when that census was taken has to be the daughter of William F. and Mary J. (Campbell) Spear since there was no other Spear family in the vicinity that could have been her parents.

She died on 18 Feb 1934 in Charlotte Co., New Brunswick, Canada.

She was married to Samuel Alfred "Sammie"⁶ MCKAY (son of Charles "Samuel" MCKAY and Mary Elizabeth JUSTASON). Samuel Alfred "Sammie" MCKAY was born on 9 May 1877 in Pennfield Ridge, Charlotte Co., New Brunswick, Canada. He died on 18 Dec 1952. Jennie M. SPEAR and Samuel Alfred "Sammie" MCKAY had the following children:
