9. Charles Gilbert³ GILLHESPY (Sarah Ophelia² STEWART, Benjamin¹ STEWART) was born on 6 MAY 1858 in Chester Twp., Ottawa Co., Michigan, USA. He appeared on the 1870 U.S. Census living with his step father, Henry HILLARD and his mother in Wright Twp., Ottawa Co., Michigan. Ten years later he appeared with them again, this time in Chester Twp., Ottawa Co. , Michigan. In 1900 he appeared on the U.S. Census as a widower, still living in Chester Twp. He died in 1949.

He was married to Louise PLUMHOFF (daughter of August PLUMHOFF and Margaret) about 1880. Louise PLUMHOFF was born about 1861 in Indiana, USA. She died between OCT 1898 and 8 JUN 1900 in Ottawa Co., Michigan, most likely. Charles Gilbert GILLHESPY and Louise PLUMHOFF had the following children:

He appeared on the 1910 U.S. Census in Colfax Twp., Wexford Co., Michigan, where he was living with Charles W. HILLARD who was the son of Benjamin HILLARD and Cordelia (STEWART) Hillard. Cordelia was a sister of Roy's grandmother, Sarah STEWART.
He died about 1962 in Coopersville, Ottawa Co., Michigan, USA.

49 v. Guy⁴ GILLHESPY was born on 22 OCT 1895. He appeared on the 1900 U.S. Census with his father in Chester Twp., Ottawa Co., Michigan. He lived in the Grand Rapids, Michigan vicinity. He died in MAY 1969.

He was married to Eliza Anna PURSER (daughter of James PURSER and Martha HILTON) on 25 MAY 1901 in Ottawa Co., Michigan, most likely. Eliza Anna PURSER was born on 6 MAR 1878 in Pavenham, Bedfordshire, England. She appeared as a three-year-old on the 1881 British Census in Pavenham with her widowed mother and ten-year-old sister Elizabeth [sic]. She came to the United States in 1895. She died on 3 JUN 1955 in West Covina, California. She died of a heart attack at the home of her [step] grandson, Russel RAAP, according to her daughter, Amy (Stewart) JABLONSKI.
