36. Benjamin F.3 HILLARD (Thomas Jefferson2 HILLARD, Richmond A.1 HILLARD) was born on 24 SEP 1844 in Ohio, USA. He appeared on the 1850 U.S. Census with his parents in Perry Twp., Morrow Co., Ohio. Ten years later he appeared with them again, this time in Wright Twp., Ottawa Co., Michigan. He died on 21 SEP 1904 in Polkton Twp., Ottawa Co., Michigan, USA. He died of an abscess of the lungs after falling off a load of hay.

He was married to Cordelia STEWART (daughter of Benjamin STEWART and Rachel SYERS) about 1865. Benjamin and Cordelia appeared on the 1870 and 1880 U.S. Censuses in Chester Twp., Ottawa Co., Michigan. In 1900 they appeared in Polkton Twp. , Ottawa Co., Michigan. After Benjamin's death, Cordelia appeared on the 1910 U.S. Census living with her son Arthur in Polkton Twp., Ottawa Co., Michigan. Cordelia STEWART was born on 27 SEP 1849 in Steuben Co., New York, most likely. She appeared on the 1850 U.S. Census with her parents in Erwin Twp., Steuben Co., New York. That census, when she was one year old, indicates she was born in New York while older siblings were reported born in Pennsylvania. So she was probably born in New York even though some reports suggest she too was born in Pennsylvania. She appeared on the 1860 U.S. Census with her parents in Chester Twp., Ottawa Co., Michigan. She died on 6 DEC 1915 in Polkton Twp., Ottawa Co., Michigan, USA. She was buried on 9 DEC 1915 in Coopersville, Ottawa Co., Michigan, USA. Benjamin F. HILLARD and Cordelia STEWART had the following children:

child+87 i. Elmer Elsworth4 HILLARD.
child+88 ii. William Thomas4 HILLARD.
child+89 iii. Charles Willard4 HILLARD.
child+90 iv. Arthur H.4 HILLARD.
