Lyle M.⁶ GERREN (Jennie Rosetta⁵ STEWART, Mary Elizabeth⁴ HILLARD, Henry J.³ HILLARD, Thomas Jefferson² HILLARD, Richmond A.¹ HILLARD) was born on 28 MAR 1898 in Antioch Twp., Wexford Co., Michigan, USA, most likely. He appeared on the 1900 U.S. Census with his parents in Antioch Twp., Wexford Co., Michigan. He died on 17 SEP 1982 in Ormond Beach, Volusia Co., Florida. He was buried in Greenwood Cemetery, Petoskey, Michigan. At the time that his daughter Gloria was born, Lyle, like his father was farming during the summer in Greenwood Twp., Wexford Co., Michigan and working during the winters in a factory in Lansing, Michigan. In 1944 Lyle owned the Sunset View Boarding Home in Petoskey, Michigan. At the time it was the largest family care home in the Midwest. At one time it had close to 100 patients. The home had been the old infirmary in Petoskey. It was the first form of mainstreaming for mental patients, serving as sort of an in-between house. Patients who left the Home still came back years later to visit Lyle and Joyce whom they viewed almost as parents. Later Lyle was a Landscape Gardner, working throughout Michigan.

He was married to Beatrice M. BRIGGS (daughter of unknown BRIGGS and Pearl WAITE) about 1920. Lyle and Beatrice appeared on the 1920 U.S. Census living with his parents in Antioch Twp., Wexford Co., Michigan. Beatrice M. BRIGGS was born about 1903 in Michigan, USA. She died in 1923 in Lansing, Ingham Co., Michigan, USA. She died at Sparrow Hospital and was buried at Greenwood Twp. Cemetery in Wexford Co., Michigan. Lyle M. GERREN and Beatrice M. BRIGGS had the following children:

He was married to Joyce Dorcas "Dorothy" PENNELL about 1926. Lyle and Joyce, went to Manton, Michigan, to care for his mother for about the last year of her life before she died of cancer. When Lyle's mother passed away, his daughter came to live with them and all moved to the Petoskey, Michigan, area about that time.
